Youth Employment Services Nunavik would like to thank KI Adult Education for inviting us to the Nunavimmiut Futures Fair last winter.
There were far fewer clients looking for jobs, training or program information during the pandemic. Instead, the services offered at Inukjuak & Kuujjuaq mostly targeted organizations for which we posted job offers.
YES Nunavik launched its online Facebook platform on July 27, 2011. Like our page and follow us, if you haven’t already done so!
After getting familiar with the VR (virtual reality) system, we were comfortable bringing customers to see the job simulations we offer: electrician, excavator operator, HVAC contractor, robotics technician, welder, auto mechanic, office worker, gourmet chef, food preparation worker, bartender and store clerk. Due to the pandemic, we are currently in contact with the designer to make sure the VR equipment can be used safely (sanitary shield and proper hygiene measures). We hope that we can officially launch this new service at YES this fall, with five new simulations.
This website is something we have been waiting for a long time now. The designer is currently developing the entire structure to make it accessible on the web. In the coming weeks, we hope to be able to start adding our content and officially launch it in the fall of 2020.
Finally, we would like to welcome Marianne Perron, YEO, and Marie-Claude Bélanger, coordinator, at YES Kuujjuaq! Good luck in your new professional endeavours.
